His background as an avid hunter and outdoorsman not only shaped his products but also fuelled a commitment to quality synonymous with the rugged spirit of the bushcraft and leather craft community.

Santosh Khaniya, a trailblazer in custom bag design, embarked on his journey in 2016, driven by a passion for vintage-inspired bags. crafting products for himself due to the absence of desired options in the market, his entrepreneurial spirit ignited at a leather shop during a casual coffee outing. With determination, he acquired tools and leather, refining his skills through experimentation and online tutorials, resulting in the creation of distinctive, custom bags that gained widespread admiration.
In 2018, while pursuing a master's degree in Australia, he identified an opportunity to address a gap in the market, during this time Santosh connected with Aaron French, who shared a similar vision. Together, they co-foundered Sydney Leather, dedicated to producing the finest Australian-made premium leather and canvas products.
